This year I delivered a prototype or a spike in XP terms (lol). It was an application written in .NET which was called by a Ruby script in Sketchup. However a Sketchup expert could build useful GUI's with Ruby scripts (Sketchup API) I decided to use .NET forms library cos it was easier for me and MS Excel was used. Ruby was merely used for Sketchup and not portability. I was happy, no, very happy I could use "require 'win32ole'".
